Kurt Cobain: Raped By Muppets?

Before one word is typed about the headline...those were Courtney Love's words, not mine.
The former Hole lead singer and late Nirvana lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain's widow claims that The Muppets "raped" Cobain's memory by incorporating Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" into the felt-skinned mob's Oscar-winning 2011 movie "The Muppets," reports The Huffington Post.
Funny coincidence: just by quoting her, I've similarly violated your consciousness by forcing upon it daydreams of a very disturbing assault by Fozzie Bear, Kermit the Frog and Gonzo upon a dead grunge legend. You're either laughing or crying right now.
In any case, despite having apparently sold half her control over Cobain's music to Primary Wave Music along with the Nirvana catalog's exclusive distribution rights, Love claims she still has absolute control over who uses her husband's works and how. More interestingly, PWM claims they actually received approval by the living two-thirds of Nirvana, bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl, to adapt the song to a barbershop quartet number in the film. Plus, Grohl is in the movie.
Love pocketed $50 million selling 25 percent of the Nirvana catalog's rights in 2005, then reportedly considered a 2010 $162 million offer for her remaining interests.
And just because making Courtney Love die a little inside is kind of fun....
