Kristen Stewart Backs Out of 'Cali' Role
by Shannon Keirnan
Kristen Stewart has backed out a project? Ruh-oh.
The “Snow White and the Huntsman” actress has signed onto “Cali,” a Nick Cassavetes-directed action flick, but has since dropped out.
The movie is in its early stages, and since Stewart has been undergoing some pretty serious stuff since she announced her infidelity to Robert Pattinson in July, will the public be kind of lenient on this one? Seems likely.
Also, may I suggest, if one is seeking to forgive, checking out the storyline for “Cali," which is as follows:
“Lovers Mya and Chris decide to return to Los Angeles to save her sister from a group of unsavory characters—years after Mya disappeared with the cash she took from the production of a fake snuff film.”
So, yeah. That could really go either way.
However, this move on Stewart’s part follows a rather scandalous drop from the “On the Road” London premiere, and this decision might throw a major damper into the production of “Cali.” Not good actress form.
We understand the sad lady wants to settle in, cry, and eat ice cream, but unfortunately Hollywood is a demanding mistress, so if Stewart wants to continue getting choice roles, it might be good to put on a fake smile and just cry in the bathroom at work like the rest of us.
Of course, as the highest paid actress in Hollywood, she also has the ability to pick and choose her projects, a luxury a lot of actors lack.
Meanwhile Alex Pettyfer, the actor from such great flicks as “Magic Mike,” and less great, “Beastly,” was signed on as her co-star, and there is no indication yet that the very pretty man plans to follow suit and drop out.
Amber Heard is now reportedly in the running to step in for the unoccupied role of Mya. The pretty lady has appeared in “Californication” and “Zombieland," as relatively minor characters, but, well, she's really hot, so there's that. She also kiiiiiind of looks like a less awkward Stewart, so we can understand the interest in using her as a replacement.
