Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Laugh Off, Support 'Twilight' Reboot
by Andy NeuenschwanderA while back, we reported about the possibility that Lionsgate could reboot the "Twilight" series before the original one, whose final installment "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is due in November, is even dead and buried (insert vampire joke here).
Many of you responded by saying that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were irreplaceable, but what did the stars themselves have to say about the matter? The question came up at a "Breaking Dawn" press conference this morning at Comic-Con, and overall the two "Twilight" lovebirds seemed supportive of the reboot concept.
"I would be open to the idea," Stewart said, according to Vulture. "I'd be really curious to see what it was... If you told me tomorrow that I could reshoot those scenes, I would start vibrating. I look back on it so fondly."
Pattinson seemed open to the idea as well, but admitted that he would be very protective of his role of Edward Cullen. "I would start a campaign against them," he said of the possibility of another actor playing the role.
The other possibility would be a sequel, requiring new source material from Stephanie Meyer, which Lionsgate noted in its official statement that it was open to. When Meyer mused about where the story would go, Pattison had a suggestion: "Edward and Bella get divorced, and it's kind of a 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' thing," he offered.
"I could totally rip your head off," responded Stewart.
Aww, aren't they cute?
