'Knocked Up' Follow-Up Won't Feature Seth Rogen

Would a "Knocked Up" follow-up feel quite the same without the original's top-billed star?

We shall see.

Seth Rogen recently broke Movies.com the bad news that writer-director Judd Apatow's upcoming follow up to his 2007 hit romantic comedy won't include Rogen's central slacker character.

The plan has apparently been that this one, previously tenatively titled "This Is Forty" and hitting theaters June 1, 2012, will spotlight Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's reprised couple.

"Yeah I'm not in it, but I went to visit the set and it looked hilarious," Rogen said.

"It was a good choice, honestly, because I think it would've confused people. But I'm really looking forward to seeing it; I thought the script was unbelievably funny."

The movie will feature Megan Fox and Rudd's pal Jason Segel, but the movie's IMDB page doesn't indicate that Katherine Heigl will be returning, either.

Rogen's been a busy man. His interview was actually promoting his role in the upcoming "50/50," co-starring as the loyal best friend of cancer diagnosee Joseph Gordon Levitt. He'll next up be partnering with Jay Baruchel this February co-starring in the Evan Goldberg-scripted "Jay and Seth Vs. The Apocalypse," which Rogen calls "oddly personal." Rogen and Goldberg will co-direct.

"It's now much more than just Jay and Seth -- there's many other people vs. the apocalypse now. It's gonna be crazy," Rogen said of the full-length adaptation of a short he and Baruchel made last year.
