Is Kim Kardashian Leaving 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians?'
by Shannon KeirnanFollowing news of her pregnancy, Kim Kardashian will be leaving her popular family reality show, “Keeping Up with The Kardashians.”
But the exit won’t be coming any time soon. Kim and the whole gang signed a three-year contract in April of last year. The family will be paid over $40 million for the three seasons—the biggest contract in the history of reality television.
Admittedly, they deserve the big check. Half of the ten most-watched shows in E!’s history involve the Kardashians. No one can say they’re not big business for the network.
However Kim has already said that she doesn’t want her upcoming baby appearing on the show—unlike her sister Kourtney.
“For me I will definitely enjoy my privacy and not have my child on T.V.”
Kim also opened up to DuJour about her growing desire to separate herself from the show.
"When you live your life so publicly, like on a reality show, people assume that they know every side of you already. But they always want more," she added. "Doing a T.V. show with your family, it's really hard to hide or be guarded.... Besides, we don't want to film a show if we can’t be who we are, because that's just too much work.”
She explained "I think there's always an evolution of, you know, what you want to do in life ... It's all about finding things that really excite you and motivate you and spark you all over again. I'm realizing that no matter what, if you go into something with all these expectations and plans, once you're actually living it, it could be completely different."
Kim also added, “My boyfriend [Kanye West] has taught me a lot about privacy ... I’m realizing everyone doesn’t need to know everything. I’m shifting my priorities.”
Until her contract runs out, however, expect to see Kim on “Keeping Up” and “Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.”
Kim says season nine will be her last. The seventh season of “Keeping Up” begins May 20th.
