Will Kim Kardashian Ruin Tyler Perry?

Sometimes when you think that nothing good can come out of a situation, the universe delivers you a delightful bit of irony. Such is the case with Kim Kardashian's divorce.

With the sneaking feeling that the whole thing was a publicity stunt, people are started to seriously turn on Kim, once again remembering that she's only famous for a sex tape. Public opinion has changed so much that people are actually threatening to boycott Tyler Perry's new movie.

See, back before this whole divorce thing happened, Tyler Perry decided it would be a grand idea to put Kim Kardashian in his new movie instead of a professional actor who might actually be able to read the lines in something other than a dazed drone. Karma is a bitch, though, and now that Kim has made a mockery of the institution of marriage, Perry's own fans are saying that they will refuse to see the movie is Kim is in it.

Oh, and the title of the movie is "The Marriage Counselor." Delicious, delicious irony.

Perry's website has its own forum in which die-hard fans can post their comments and support, but of late the wall is littered with posts protesting Kim K's involvement in the new film.

One fan, Jackie, wrote: "To see that somebody with no measurable talent, other than attending celebrity events, dating athletes, and spending money gets a shot as the lead in one of your films is not only disconcerting, it's unjust and a slap in the face of all those who seriously devote their time, energy, and money to craft of acting. I hope you'll reconsider. But until then, we will no longer see your films. "

Another fan, Joan, wrote: "Tyler, I will not support a film with Kim Kardasian as a star. She is a negative role model for our daughters and I have no respect for any production she is a part of."

Were it a bunch of angry commenters writing in all caps, it would be easy to shrug this off as people getting too riled up. But most of the comments are like the ones above: calm, thought-out and respectful. To me, that says that Tyler Perry fans might actually be serious about skipping this movie if Kim K is in it.

Then again, "The Marriage Counselor" is still filming, so by the time it comes out, fans may have forgotten all about Kim's divorce. Heck, we might have all decided to send the Kardashians to Mars in a rocket ship by then.

It would take a lot to sink Tyler Perry, whose recent film "Madea's Big Happy Family" was a huge box office success. Could Kim Kardashian end up being Tyler Perry's downfall?
