Is Khloe Kardashian This Season's 'X Factor' Host?

The judges' table is filled with brand new pop stars (Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, for those who have somehow avoided the news), the format has been switched up, and even some of the guest mentors have signed on for the second season of "The X Factor." But one very important job is still open: the host.

Those who watched the previous season of "The X Factor" saw the often awkward but refreshingly honest hosting work from Steve Jones. Apparently the fan feedback was not good, and Jones was sacked when the season was finished, along with judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

But now there's a rumored frontrunner for the job: Khloe Kardashian. I'll give you a moment for that to settle in.

Yes, apparently Simon Cowell's current first choice for the job is Kardashian Sister #3 (okay, maybe she's #2), and all the show is waiting on is a successful screen test from the reality star. The choice sort of came out of nowhere, but then again we haven't heard much about possibilities for the hosting gig.

There was talk of having two co-hosts (which was originally the plan for season one, but Nicole Scherzinger got bumped up to judge when Cheryl Cole was fired), and "Glee" star Kevin McHale has also been in consideration. McHale did a series of Pepsi/X Factor promos last season, so he's already close to the production. However, his "Glee" shooting schedule might be an issue.
