Khloe Kardashian Claims A 'Break,' Not A 'Khloe & Lamar' Cancellation
by Sean ComerWhen the Kardashian cloud rains, it pours.
Yesterday, Khloe Kardashian and former Dallas Maverick husband Lamar Odom had allegedly decided they were killing their "Khloe & Lamar" E! reality series after the upcoming second season. This morning, word breached that Khloe and E! executives have been discussing a separate spin-off of her own.
Now, per E! News, Khloe claims she and Odom's show was not, is not and will not be canceled.
"We don't know what the future holds, but it will depend on their schedules and on Lamar's basketball schedule," a rep for Khloe told E! News today.
Focus by both on Odom's NBA future has been the most constant element amidst the varying reports. The Mavericks released Odom this past winter after the forward clashed repeatedly with owner Mark Cuban after being acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. The early word around the campfire was that Odom wanted to get back to the form that made him a 2000 All-Rookie First Team member and Sixth Man of the Year Award winner, and just couldn't do it with a camera constantly in his face.
Khloe hasn't denied that's still a priority, but doesn't see their show's continuation working against that.
That's probably a good thing for Odom: when E! recently gave "Keeping Up with The Kardashians" a three-season renewal, the spin-off development deal it renewed with the Kardashian family includes not only Khloe, but Odom as well.
"Lamar and I have chosen to take a break this summer," Khloe told Entertainment tonight. "We've been on a whirlwind and doing back-to-back shows . . . We just want to take a little time off for Lamar to be with . . . family, kids, basketball, Olympics, you never know. So we have a lot on our plate right now."
As for Odom?
"We just want to be happy. We'll take our time and we'll get back to it when it's time," he added.
