Kevin Hart Commits to Role in 'Keep It Together' Sitcom

It's been a very good year for Kevin Hart. This time last year, he was a successful comedian, but most people who weren't fans of stand-up comedy didn't know who he was. Now he's got two successful films in theaters at the same time, and as a producer, he has a sitcom pilot in development for ABC. So far, "Keep It Together" only has a pilot order, but you can bet, given Hart's box-office hits and his commitment to play a recurring role in the show, the sitcom has an excellent chance of being picked up for the network's fall season.

"Keep It Together" concerns a divorced man, played by Romany Malco ("the 40 Year Old Virgin"), who is trying to maintain a friendly relationship with his ex-wife for the sake of their kids. Amber Stevens will play Malco's new live-in girlfriend.

The pilot will be written by Neil Goldman and Garett Donovan, and Hart will produce; the series' premise is reportedly based on Hart's real life. It had been unclear whether Hart would play an on-camera role in the series, especially given his suddenly hot film career—he's currently starring in the hits "Ride Along" and "About Last Night"—but the latest news is that he's committed to a role in multiple episodes, assuming the pilot is ordered to series.
