Kevin Bacon And Kyra Sedgwick Are Married Cousins

Well, this is awkward.

Interesting, but....awkward.

Yes, obvious joke is obvious, but a word of advice: never play "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" with Kyra Sedgwick. She's got an ace up her sleeve nobody could've expected, E! Online and Zap2It report. Aside from the knee-jerk "I'm married to him" card, she's also his distant cousin.

They've been married 23 year, but the unexpected blood link the two share was revealed by the PBS series "Finding Your Roots". The "X-Men: First Class" player and "The Closer" star have two children together, 22-year-old son Travis and 19-year-old daughter Sosie. The PBS series uses DNA-matching technology to uncover the histories of well-known individuals' ancestors.

"They are indeed distant cousins," confirmed "Finding Your Roots" host Henry Louis Gates. "Talk about six degrees of separation, right?"

Last time that joke appears. Promise.

The pair haven't yet commented on the fascinating revelation, nor has much news emerged detailing just how "distant" the pair's relation actually is.
