Kesha Suing Music Producer for Sexual Abuse and Battery

Kesha Suing Music Producer for Sexual Abuse and Battery Kesha is taking the fight to her former producer and mentor.

The singer is suing Dr. Luke, also known as Lukasz Gottwald, on counts of sexual abuse, battery, emotional distress and a host of other charges that she claims occurred while Dr. Luke was mentoring her in her music career.

According to Kesha's allegations, the abuse started early: court documents claim that Dr. Luke convinced a teenage Kesha to drop out of high school and move to Los Angeles to pursue a music career. Over the years, he allegedly verbally and physically abused Kesha, destroying her self confidence and leading her toward self-destructive behavior.

Among the many specific events detailed in the court documents include one in which Dr. Luke forced Kesha to take an illegal drug during a plane flight, then sexually assaulted her.

Kesha claims the verbal abuse was what caused her to develop an eating disorder. The documents state that Dr. Luke frequently told her things like, "you are not that pretty and you are not talented, you are just lucky to have me." He also reportedly called her a "fat f--king refrigerator." Kesha recently exited a rehab program for bulimia.

In response, Dr. Luke has filed his own suit claiming defamation, breach of contract, tortious interference with contractual relationships against Kesha, her mother and her new management company.

"This is just another pathetic and entirely predictable example of Dr. Luke's continued abuse, and a misguided attempt to keep Kesha under his tyrannical control," Kesha's lawyer said in response to Dr. Luke's counter-suit. "This lawsuit has absolutely no basis in fact, the law or reality. Kesha is focused on reclaiming her voice and her freedom. She is determined to move on with her life and her career by putting this dark period behind her."
