Watch: Kermit Gives it to Congress on 'SNL'

Watch: Kermit Gives it to Congress on 'SNL' After crashing Jason Segel’s opening monologue on SNL with his fellow Muppets, Kermit stood by to let off some political steam with Seth Myers in Weekend Update.

The funny man and Muppet teamed up in a segment called “Really?” to take on Congress’ recent decision that classified pizza as a vegetable in school lunches. The two took turns offering ridiculous comparisons and shedding light on childhood obesity.

A disappointed Kermit shamed Congress for not protecting children, while suggesting the National Anthem could be changed to the Hot Pockets' jingle.

When Meyers pointed out that food companies spent over $5 million lobbying against tighter food restrictions, making Congress a puppet to the food industry, Kermit was quick to assure that no offense was taken. After all, Kermit is really a Muppet.
