Kelly Clarkson of 'American Idol' is Engaged!
by Andy NeuenschwanderIt looks like Kelly Clarkson is going to have to change her style for her next album.
The "American Idol" alum, who won the first season of the now behemoth vocal competition show, announced some big news via Twitter: she's engaged!
"I'M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever," Clarkson tweeted.
Her now fiancé is Brandon Blackstock, who has his own ties to music legend: he happens to be Reba McEntire's stepson. Clarkson and Blackstock have been acquainted for some time, but only began dating back in February of 2012.
The engagement is happy news for Clarkson, but fans of her music might have some reason for concern. After all, Clarkson is an artist that became famous for defiant breakup songs such as "Since U Been Gone" and the more recent "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)."
What will happen when Clarkson doesn't have any breakup material to write songs with? "I'm trying to write a tough song and it is coming out like butterflies and rainbows," she admitted earlier this year.
Uh oh.
