Katt Williams of 'Scary Movie 5' Arrested

“Scary Movie 5” star and comedian Katt Williams has been arrested on suspicion of child endangerment.

Williams was arrested at 8:30 pm on Friday after a welfare check at his home revealed multiple firearms—one of which was stolen—as well as illegal drugs.  Williams, whose birth name is Micah Sierra Williams, was arrested but released on $100,000 bail later that evening. His children have been placed in protective custody.

This all occurred about the same time it was discovered that the IRS had filed a $4 million tax lien against the star.

While Williams’ attorney had no comment, Williams was heard to ask, upon his exit from jail, “How do you keep kids safe without guns? If the police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes, you’re gonna find guns! I’m not in a gang, what difference does it make?”

He added, “Weed is not a drug,” in response to the drug charges.

Williams has been finding himself in quite a bit of trouble lately, having been arrested multiple times in the past few months. In November he allegedly hit a man on the head with a bottle during a fight, and in December was arrested on a felony warrant for allegedly running from police on a three-wheeled motorcycle, which came dangerously close to hitting bystanders.

No word yet on who the gun was stolen from—or why a man who can afford $100,000 bail might feel the need to steal a gun for his collection.
