Kate Gosselin Tells Dr. Drew She's 'So Lonely'

Kate Gosselin Dr Drew Lonely Well, what do you think, Yidio faithful: is Kate Gosselin's admission that she's "lonely" these days, as she recently told Dr. Drew Pinsky on "Dr. Drew's Lifechangers," a game-changer for her image?

Sure, by the time TLC gave "Kate Plus 8" the official ax last August, the divorced mother of eight had developed quite the perception among the show's viewers as a grating shrew. It probably didn't help that, in the wake of the show's cancelation, she claimed publicly that she felt she could only earn a living for her and her brood by being on camera despite cable and network television executives expressing complete disinterest.

Still, she tells Dr. Drew that ordinary motherhood - particularly without a partner - leaves her wanting more.

"I am lonely," she said. "I clean up the house, put kids to bed and there I sit. Ideally I would find that person [to date], but I don't know if I feel ready for that."

She also concedes that circumstance works against her right now.

"I think a lot of my friends who are being constructive say, 'Gosh, who are you going to meet that is going to be able to deal with eight kids?' My answer is always, if they can deal with eight kids in our situation, it probably will be the person. It will sort of prove it."

Ex-husband Jon Gosselin expressed deep relief when TLC axed the show last August. He hoped that losing the camera would mean gaining private time between Kate and the children, a life where there's less struggle over personal attention. He also hoped that Kate would take this opportunity and savor this time with her children. When he moved out after he and Kate separated in September 2009, his attorneys ordered that October that TLC cease production and keep a healthy distance from his children and former home.

These days, Kate told Dr. Drew, there's peace between the two and he's been a good father despite the pair's divorce.

"The bottom line is, the kids come home basically happy," said Gosselin. "And that's all that matters."
