Kanye West as a Gay Jazz Player in 'Red Hot Charlie'? The internet has been full of rumors and speculation regarding a recent posting by the sketchy-at-best MediaTakeout.com claiming that Kanye West is attached to a recent project playing a gay jazz man in a film featuring what the site has called “explicit gay sex.”

The site goes on to mention a number of high-profile African-American backers, including Wil Smith, Oprah Winfrey and Jay Z, and they cite the script as an award-winner in the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Nicholl screenwriting competition.

Given the recent high-profile exchange between Kanye and Fifty Cent over Kanye’s sexuality, and the Gay Fish segment making fun of him on South Park, we wouldn’t be surprised if this story was another rumor from a Kanye hater. That being said, there’s a script out there right now called “Red Hot Charlie” penned by Nicholl semi-finalist Deb Havener that fits the speculative bill.

Listed on IMDB as “Red Hot Charlie,” but referred to as “Midnight Swing” on Facebook and originally entitled “Glimmer, Glimmer” in a screenplay, the plotline is focused on “Two young trumpet players revel in jazz, booze and women -- until a dark secret emerges that threatens the fate of their band and the friendship of a lifetime.”

Is “Red Hot Charlie” Kanye’s Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (not that there's anything wrong with that)? Will he be taking a “Midnight Swing” on the big screen? Seems like a stretch, but we’ll let you know when we find out more.
