Justin Bieber's Hair is Worth $40,000

Justin Bieber shocked the world recently when he (gasp) got a haircut. With his trademark bowl cut gone, Bieber had an idea: instead of just throwing that hair away, why not sell it?

It might sound like a ridiculous idea, but Bieber took it an ran with it, going on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and offering Ellen a lock of his hair encased in a plexiglass box. Ellen had the privilege of choosing a charity (she went with The Gentle Barn, a farm animal rescue and sanctuary), and the hair went up on eBay.

So how much is a lock of Justin Bieber's hair, presented by Ellen DeGeneres, and benefiting animal rescue charities worth? Right around $40,668. That's what the hair went for in the eBay auction, having received 98 bids in total. That raises the question: which 14-year-old girl out there has $40,000?

This isn't the only charity work Bieber has done in the past week, as the star also set up a project at Mycharitywater.org to raise money to bring clean water to developing countries.

The site was set up for Bieber's 17th birthday (which he celebrated this week) and had a campaign goal set at $17,000. Well, Bieber and his fans absolutely crushed that goal, raising over $45,000 and counting.

Let it be known that if you want to raise good money for charity, all you need is the Biebz...or at least a little bit of his hair.
