Justin Bieber's Hair Is Raising Money for Japan

Here's how famous Justin Bieber is: even his hair can make money.

The pop idol got a big haircut a while back, but his precious locks weren't simply thrown away. In fact, Bieber took a lock of his hair to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and offered it to Ellen in a plexiglass box. The lock was then auctioned off to raise money for a charity of Ellen's choosing, and ended up selling for $40,000.

But in that situation, at least the fan got to own the hair at the end of the day (hey, if anything it's a conversation piece: "Oh, what's in that plexiglass box on your coffee table?" "Why, that's a lock of Justin Bieber's hair." "Um, I'll be leaving now"). Ok Magazine is reporting that another lock of Bieber's hair will be put on display.

The hair will be on display at a Lucky Strike bowling alley in Miami Beach on March 29th. Fans will be asked for a suggested donation to have access to it, take pictures with it, and so forth. It seems crazy, but don't underestimate Bieber fans.

The good thing is that all of the proceeds from the hair appearance will go toward a relief fund for Japan, following the devastating earthquake and tsunami.

Here's my question: how do they know it isn't just a fake? Maybe they just tackled a straight-brown-haired kid on the street outside and cut off a chunk of his hair. Who would know?
