Justin Bieber Makes Ill-Advised Comparison Between Himself and Michael Jackson
by Andy NeuenschwanderHere's a tip: If you just got arrested and want to prove yourself innocent, don't compare yourself to Michael Jackson.
After Justin Bieber was arrested earlier this week for alleged drag racing while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, he was released on a $2,500 bond because of course he was because he's incredibly rich and famous.
Shortly after his release, Bieber posted a photo to Instagram that showed him waving on the hood of his car to fans, side-by-side with a photo of Michael Jackson waving to fans.
Without context, you would assume that Bieber just considers himself to be the new King of Pop and a musician at the level of talent and stardom as Michael Jackson. Correction: You would assume that Bieber incorrectly assumes that.
But here's the kicker: That photo of MJ was taken outside of the courthouse where the late performer had been accused of multiple counts of child molestation.
Of course Jackson was eventually found not guilty of those charges, but even if Bieber is overlooking Jackson's alleged crimes, there's still the fact that MJ was eventually found dead in his home from a drug overdose.
What we're saying is he's not necessarily the person you want to be comparing yourself to, at least not in the context of a legal setting.
In any case, here's the photo that Bieber posted. Enjoy and ridicule as you see fit.
