Justin Bieber Getting a Sitcom?
by Shannon KeirnanGood news for Justin Beiber fans!
Well, maybe.
Apparently ABC Studios is excited to cash in on the Bieber Fever, because they’ve picked up a sitcom based on the “Never Say Never” star’s life.
Unfortunately for those who go weak in the knees over the teenage crooner, the show will be based on his living situations, pre-fame. That means younger Bieber of olde, not the swaggy, Selena-Gomez-dating Bieber you’re all so fond of.
In fact it will focus on “awkward teen” Bieber, struggling to make his way in the world of music.
The single-camera comedy will be based on Bieber’s upbringing. Thus, a teenage music prodigy raised by his mother and grandparents.
Bieber and his manager, Scooter Braun, will be involved in the project as executive producers. Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi of “Entourage” are fingered to write the script.
As of yet the project is untitled, and set to start filming next season.
Bieber is a busy boy these days. He also has a new acoustic album due out in January.
On “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Bieber told Ellen, “"It's something I think the fans really like because I started out on YouTube just playing my guitar and just singing without all the production and stuff. I think it's more intimate."
Is this something that you guys will watch, even if it doesn’t involve staring at the Bieber himself? Perhaps the little crooner will be making guest appearances, but is that enough to keep you tuning in every week?
