Justin Bieber Faces Battery Allegations
by Sean ComerJustin Bieber's questionable behavior may have escalated from Twitter monkeyshines, to getting a touch violent.
Bieber allegedly got hands-on Sunday in Calabasas, Calif. with a paparazzo he believed was invading his space, Us Weekly reports today. The 18-year-old "Boyfriend" artist, whose new album Believe hits shelves soon, got physical when a photographer kept snapping shots of him enjoying a day out with girlfriend Selena Gomez.
A Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff's Department press release states the photographer claims Bieber and Gomez left the scene after the altercation, before authorities could arrive.
"The victim complained of pain and requested medical attention," a Sheriff's Department representative told Us Weekly. "Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and later released. The victim requested a criminal report be taken regarding the incident and an allegation of misdemeanor battery report was taken at the scene."
To put a smirking twist on things, this would be the same Justin Bieber that accompanied Floyd Mayweather to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Ring on Cinco de Mayo for the undefeated Mayweather's fight against Miguel Cotto. Let's see, weren't there some moments that got Mayweather into a heap of trouble and bought him a jail sentence? Oh, right - two 2002 domestic violence charges and one misdemeanor battery count, followed most recently by a 2010 domestic battery charge.
Bieber isn't exactly an angel, either. He recently found himself in potential legal hot water for randomly tweeting a Texas couple's home phone number. The couple then threatened to sue the pop star.
Thus far, Bieber hasn't issued a statement about the reported incident. But, he did tweet this shortly after the occurance:
gonna focus on the important stuff. the music. #DieInYourArms hits ITUNES in less than #24HOURS - #BELIEVE
