Justin Bieber Claims He Was Offered 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Role

Yes, you read that correctly.

Justin Bieber is reportely in consideration for a role in the movie adpation of '50 Shades of Grey.'

Bieber told talk show host Jonathan Ross recently that "They actually want me to be in the movie!" Ross had just made a quip that the bondage-themed romance trilogy might give Bieber's notoriously rabid, slightly unhinged fans ideas, NME reports.

Published last year and ranking as the U.K.'s best-selling book of all time with over 5.5 million copies sold, Shades tells the story of businessman Christian Grey's BDSM relationship with a college student named Anastacia Steele. Universal Pictures and Focus Features came together this past March to acquire the filming rights. As yet, there's no director, writers or stars attached.

Supposing the 18-year-old Bieber were in contention for a major part, he'd face stiff competition with heavy-duty resumes. The likes of Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Ian Somerhalder, Alexander Skarsgard and porn actor James Deen have all reportedly been considered for the film.

Honestly? It would never work. It doesn't take much more than reading the novel's synopsis to see that.

There's no disguising Bieber's age, and no way he's going to turn in the kind of performance that makes anyone forget it. It would reverse the premise entirely and make Anastacia Steele look like a cradle-robber.

Let's sincerely hope he's joking, and that there isn't a producer walking the earth who would pass up more age-appropriate, experienced, talented performers for a part like this.
