Justin Bieber Cited for Reckless Driving, Prompts 911 Calls

Is Justin Bieber the latest recipient of preferential treatment from the law, or are people just hating on a guy who was trying to get some privacy?

Bieber was pulled over the other day for reckless driving after weaving through traffic on the freeway in Los Angeles at speeds estimated at 100 MPH, according to TMZ. Bieber was reportedly creating such a hazard that at least 10 drivers on the freeway called 911 at the time to report the incident. In fact, an LA councilman who was at the scene claims that Bieber should have been arrested on the spot.

Here's the catch, though: Bieber was supposedly attempting to escape from paparazzi in pursuing cars. In fact, reports say that Bieber's own security was in the car with him, and okayed the high-speed escape.

Apparently people have a short-term memory... didn't we see this end very badly for Princess Di? I can't say I'm a big fan of Bieber's music, but we shouldn't run him off the road.

On the other hand, perhaps Bieber should consider driving something other than a shiny chrome Fisker Karma sports car. It does tend to scream "HEY I'M A CELEBRITY FOLLOW ME."

What do you think? Should Bieber have been put in the slammer, or should the paparazzi be held responsible?
