Julianne Moore Plays An Insecure Sarah Palin In New 'Game Change' Trailer

Julianne Moore Sarah PalinYou might adore Sarah Palin. You might hate her.

You might think she's the plain-spoken conscience America needs. You might think she proves conclusively how dangerous power can be when placed in the hands of someone seemingly too out-there to be trusted.

You can't argue that she captivates.

For all her foibles, she's rarely come across insecure. No matter how polarizing she might be, she projects herself as believing absolutely in herself and all that she holds true. On the other hand, the HBO original movie "Game Change" features Oscar nominee Julianne Moore portraying the former Alaska Governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate as an insecure, trepidatious newcomer who wasn't sure she could sink or swim in the deep waters of federal politics.

View that portrayal as we will, that's the way Palin was portrayed in Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime, the non-fiction book about the 2008 presidential race that's the basis for the movie premiering March 10. True, a McCain campaign operative portrayed by Woody Harrelson deems President-to-be Barack Obama in one scene "a man with no major life accomplishments," but it's Moore's Palin portrayal that might be the most striking. In this new trailer, Moore plays Palin truly out of the candidate's depth and fearing what will await her if she and McCain fail - and that's pretty much how the book by journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin portrays her.
