Dueling Snow Whites: Julia Roberts Lands Evil Queen Role in the 'Grimms Brothers: Snow White'

Julia Roberts landed the role of the evil queen in the Snow White movie.

Now, this movie is the Grimm Brothers version of Snow White that is being produced and not the one where Kristen Stewart is in the running for the role of Snow White.

That's a totally movie that is in the works with a different company. Charlize Theron is playing the evil queen in that version. There will be two Snow White movies released in the same year - confusing enough for you?

Producer and Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh, who are making the Grimm Brothers version of the film, told Popeater that "Julia was our first and only choice to play the Queen. She is an icon. We know that she will make this role her own in a way that no one else could."

Universal is behind 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' with 'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart rumored to be attached to the lead role, Viggo Mortensen as the reported huntsman and Charlize Theron as that film's Evil Queen.

Yidio recently reported on that story, and the buzz around the new film has been substantial.

Why would two studios produce a version of the same movie in the same year? Why don’t they leave a gap between years so that audiences want to see both flicks and not just pick which one seems the best?
