Josh Lucas and Lynn Collins to Star in A&E's 'Occult'
by Zack WellsJosh Lucas and Lynn Collins have signed on to star in A&E’s upcoming series “Occult”, a drama thriller series produced by (the seemingly very busy) Michael Bay, and written by James Wong, the mastermind behind “The X-Files”.
You might remember Josh Lucas from his role as Mitch McDeere in “The Firm”, but he has also been in the “American Psycho” remake, “A Beautiful Mind”, “Poseidon”, and “Hulk”.
The beautiful Lynn Collins, who played Dawn Green in the series “True Blood”, has also starred in several movies, such as “John Carter”, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, “The Number 23”, and “Unconditional”.
“Occult” is said to center on an FBI agent (Josh Lucas) who is recently returned from an extended absence after having a mental breakdown of sorts whilst investigating his wife’s disappearance. Thrilled to be back on the job, he is paired with another agent (Lynn Collins), who happens to specialize in the occult. Together, they form the Occult Crimes Task Force, and are tasked to solve cases together.
Sounds a lot like “X-Files” meets “Fringe” meets “Supernatural”, does it not? That would make sense, of course, as it is being written by James Wong.
James Wong has contributed as writer for “The X-Files”, “American Horror Story”, “Final Destination”, "Final Destination 3", and even “21 Jump Street” back in the day.
With James Wong’s knack for the twisted and Supernatural, and Michael Bay’s penchant for explosions and epic adventures, do you have high hopes for this show, or do you think it will be a dud?
