Josh Groban Pushes Paper: Singer to Guest Star on 'The Office'

Josh Groban Pushes Paper: Singer to Guest Star on 'The Office' Pop singers cross over into acting all the time: just look at Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce. But how many opera singers do you know who can hold their own in a comedy?

Classical singer Josh Groban is about to make another big guest appearance on a major network TV show. You may have seen Groban's cameo in an early episode of "Glee" or caught him recently on the big screen in "Crazy, Stupid, Love." Up next, the singer has his heart set on Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Groban will be making an appearance on the upcoming season of "The Office." That's pretty cool in and of itself, but here's the best part: Groban will be playing Andy Bernard's brother.

Andy, who is played by "The Hangover" star Ed Helms, often shows off his musical talents on the show, so chances are pretty good that Groban's singing ability will be part of the equation here. My bet is that Andy is constantly living in jealousy of his brother's superior musical talent, thus his propsensity to sing all the damn time.

The appearance will help instill some life into the show, which will be embarking on its first full season without Steve Carell. James Spader, who appeared in last season's finale along with a host of other big-name comedic actors, will be on as a series regular to take over as the Scranton branch manager.
