John Stamos Lands Season-Long Gig on 'Necessary Roughness'
by Zack WellsJohn Stamos is keeping very busy, it seems. Apart from signing on to star in the upcoming NBC drama pilot “I Am Victor”, and his recurring role on “The New Normal”, John Stamos has signed on to appear in a 10 episode story arc on “Necessary Roughness” starting in season 3 (most likely to begin airing in June).
For those unfamiliar with the show, “Necessary Roughness” covers the tales of a Long Island psychotherapist Dr. Dani Santino. She becomes one of the most sought-after therapists for high-profile clients (athletes, entertainers, and politicians alike) due to her tough love therapy, a necessary roughness, if you will.
John Stamos is slotted to play Connor McClane, which is a departure of John Stamos’ usual good guy roles. Connor McClane is the founder of V3, a massive sports and entertainment management company. He sees the success of Dr. Dani Santino’s therapy with other athletes, and aggressively pursues her, trying to get her to work for his V3 family, no matter the cost.
John Stamos, perhaps best known for his role as Uncle Jesse in “Full House”, has also had recurring roles on “ER”, “Glee”, “The New Normal”, “Jake in Progress, “Thieves”, and “General Hospital”. He’s also been working on Broadway, in shows such as “Cabaret” and “Bye Bye Birdie”.
Be sure to keep an eye out for “Necessary Roughness”, Wednesday nights at 10:00 PM EST on USA Network. And keep your eyes peeled for John Stamos’ character debut, likely in June of this year.
