Joe Pesci Sues Over Gotti Film

You know who you really don't want to piss off in this world? Joe Pesci.

The actor with a famously explosive temper and arguably the foulest mouth in Hollywood is apparently suing the producers of "Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father" (originally titled "Gotti: Three Generations") for using his name to draw in other talent (including John Travolta and Al Pacino), telling him get fat for the part, then reneging on a deal to have him in a starring role.

Pesci is suing Fiore Films and producer Mark Fiore, after they allegedly asked him to take a $2 million dollar pay cut and a smaller part, according to the Guardian. Pesci had originally been slated to play Gotti's senior lieutenant Angelo Ruggiero, and had reportedly put on a ton of weight for the role. Now he's fatter, and with no role in the film.

Pesci's lawsuit claims:

"Defendant has no intention of paying (Pesci) $3 million or having him portray Ruggiero in the film. Rather, plaintiff secretly planned to use (Pesci's) name and likeness to promote the film and then to later concoct some pretext for terminating the contract so as to avoid paying plaintiff anything for the substantial publicity and 'buzz' that was generated."

For his part, the bold Fiore says Pesci's story is poppycock, and that the actor backed out after director Nick Cassavetes left the production.

"I might be a newbie in town. This newbie is not going to get bullied around," said Fiore, who apparently has never seen "Goodfellas."

Perhaps Fiore needed Pesci to take a paycut so he could make some room for Lindsay Lohan.

Back in April, Lohan announced she had been cast as Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr. While it briefly sounded like she may have lost the role, Fiore confirmed to People that she was, in fact, still in the film.
