Joe Manganiello of 'True Blood' Joins 'How I Met Your Mother' Season 8

"How I Met Your Mother" is about to get a little more ab-tastic, as Joe Manganiello has signed on to appear in a multi-episode arc in the show's upcoming eighth season.

You might know him now as Alcide Herveaux from "True Blood" or Big Dick Richie from "Magic Mike," but before Manganiello made a career of getting naked all the time (and a surprising amount of growling), he was Brad, a friend of Marshall's and a one-time potential love interest for Robin (just one time). He looks like a Brad, doesn't he?

This raises a few questions about the direction that the new season will take, especially considering Robin's new relationship status. Will Brad attempt to woo Robin again? Will we find out the big mystery about what he meant when he said he was "born a little different" below the belt?

And most importantly: will Manganiello end up naked (again) in his return?

This continues a trend over the past season of bringing back characters from early in the show, as Victoria (Ashley Williams) and even the Slutty Pumpkin (Katie Holmes) made appearances. Former guest star Michael Trucco is also said to be appearing in the upcoming season.

As for the show's future, while no deal is in place for a renewal yet, negotiations are happening now to bring the show back for an early ninth-season renewal at CBS.
