Joanna and Chip Gaines Are Expecting

We may have just gotten a hint about why Chip and Joanna Gaines decided to end their hit series Fixer Upper. The couple revealed this week that Joanna is pregnant with their fifth child, and they even posted a pic of Joanna's burgeoning baby bump (and Chip's, too).

“Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are expecting their fifth child. The couple announced the news just after the Jan. 2 episode of their hit HGTV series.

Chip took to Twitter to reveal two vague hints that indicated the couple is expecting. However, it was the third hint in which he gave it all away, revealing that the music of Johnnyswim is partially to blame.

“Hint #3 You might recall a few months back.. The ever amazing, ever romantic @JOHNNYSWIM was in Waco. And they put on a little too romantic of a concert.. Anyways, one thing led to another, & we are officially pregnant. And I could not be more EXCITED! #5 #7ThePerfectNumber.”

The tweet was followed quickly by an image on Chip’s Instagram in which Joanna revealed her baby bump for the very first time… as did Chip.

The couple recently shocked fans by revealing that the current fifth season of their home makeover show will be the last. Fans weren’t sure why the couple had decided to end such a successful show, but they insisted that they simply wanted to take time for themselves and focus on their family. Now it seems that family will be a little larger than anyone understood.

Chip and Joanna are already the proud parents of two girls, Ella and Emme, and two boys, Duke and Drake. They teased the big fifth child announcement just prior to the episode’s airing on Instagram. Chip posted a video in which Joanna talks about putting pickles on ice cream.

“That hasn’t been in like five or six years Chip… so,” she said.

“I feel… like… eerily due one,” he responds.

Then the couple chant “number five” throughout various stages of their production.
