Joan Rivers Hospitalized, Condition Uncertain [UPDATED]

Joan Rivers Hospitalized, Condition Uncertain [UPDATED] Joan Rivers, 81, has been rushed to Manhattan's Mt. Sinai Hospital following complications during a surgery.

Rivers reportedly stopped breathing during a procedure on her vocal cords at a nearby doctor's office, and was in critical condition by the time authorities arrived to transport her. According to some reports, Rivers had gone into cardiac arrest by this point and was revived.

"This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to," said hospital spokesperson Sid Dinsay. "Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available."

Rivers' assistant, Graham Reed, was overheard at the hospital telling someone that Rivers was "not conscious, but stable." An obviously upset Reed later refused to comment on her condition to the reporters present.

E!, which airs "Fashion Police," has confirmed that daughter Melissa Rivers is en route to be with her - at the time when her condition was reported to be critical, a family source noted that no major decisions would be made until Melissa was present.

"E!, 'Fashion Police,' and NBC Universal continue to send thoughts and prayers to Joan, Melissa, and their entire family," the network said in a statement.

A source from E! News, Chief News Correspondent Ken Baker, tweeted that Rivers' condition was now stable, but no official word has yet been released from the family or her spokesperson.

Our thoughts go out to Rivers, her family, and friends at this time. Yidio will keep you updated on her condition as more information arises.
