J.K. Rowling Destroys Westboro Baptist Church on Twitter

Ah, J.K. Rowling. We do love her so.

The "Harry Potter" author gave us another reason to turn our hero-worship her way after she completely trounced the notoriously hated Westboro Baptist Church on Twitter.

The interaction came as Rowling was apparently watching proceedings in Ireland as it made history by being the first country to legalize same-sex marriages by a popular vote.

"Sitting here watching the Irish make history. Extraordinary and wonderful," she tweeted.

A fan replied, noting, "@jk_rowling proud to see us being so open and accepting, at long last! I hope Dumbledore and all witches and wizards feel welcome here."

Rowling laughingly posted a popular meme which features Keanu Reeves in a constant expression of having his mind blown.

"What if Dumblefore and Gandolf were gay together?" The caption read. Rowling added happily, "Then they could get married IN IRELAND!"

The Westboro Baptist Church glommed onto the tweet, of course.

"So @jk_rowling wants Dumbledore & Gandolf to marry in Ireland; if it happens, WBC will picket! #NotBanned"

(As the theoretical marriage would take place between two fictional characters, it will probably be the one even WBC doesn't manage to actually ruin).

Rowling responded to the tweet with an epic retort.

"@WBCsigns Alas, the sheer awesomeness of such a union in such a place would blow your tiny bigoted minds out of your thick sloping skulls."

Rowling received some irritation by fans who pointed out that she was giving WBC the attention upon which they so desperately feed, but Rowling brushed off criticisms.

"I don't care about WBC. I think it's important that scared gay kids who aren't out yet see hate speech challenged."

Meanwhile, WBC continues to protest Ireland's decision by holding signs reading "God Hates Ireland" posted over the flag of the Ivory Coast, having accidentally reversed the Irish colors.
