After a home-stretch looking like she may burst any second, Jessica Simpson has at last given birth. The singer/actress and fiancé Eric Johnson welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew this morning, People and Simpson's own website reported earlier today.

"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson," Simpson wrote today. "We are grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!"

Maxwell Drew is 21 3/4" long and tips the scale at 9 lbs., 13 oz., People reports. Her name is the combination of Johnson's middle name ("Maxwell") and Simpson's mother Tina's maiden name. It's the first bundle of joy for both Simpson and Johnson.

Simpson had a laugh announcing the pregnancy via Twitter this past Halloween. Decked out in bandages, she announced to the world while cradling her belly, "It's true - I'm going to be a mummy." She spilled this past March in Elle - for which, she posed nude in all her ripened expectant-mother glow - that she and Johnson were awaiting a daughter.

Former NFL player Johnson, 32, and Simpson, 31, started dating in May 2011 were engaged by November. It will be Simpson's second marriage, following her 2002-2005 marriage to former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey.
