Jessica Lange Leaving 'American Horror Story'
by Andy Neuenschwander
Sad news, "American Horror Story" fans: the queen bee won't be coming back next year.
Jessica Lange has confirmed that she will be leaving the FX horror anthology series and will not appear in the upcoming "American Horror Story: Hotel," the fifth season in the series. Lange has played starring roles in all four seasons of the show thus far, and racked up a number of award nominations and wins.
"I’m done,” Lange said during the "AHS" panel at PaleyFest this weekend. “You know, we’ve had a great run here. I mean, I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I’ve had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I’ve loved the writers and my actors and Ryan [Murphy] and the whole, I mean, insanity of it."
This opens the door for Lady Gaga to be the headliner for season five, as the pop singer has been confirmed for a leading role. Gaga will be joined by Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson in the upcoming "Hotel" season.
