Jessica Chastain to Be a Cannes Juror

Jessica Chastain will be part of the Cannes Film Festival’s jury this year, festival chief Thierry Frémaux has revealed. Speaking to French radio station France Inter on Friday morning, a mere day after the lion’s share of the festival’s Official Selection was announced, Frémaux confirmed the actress and producer will be one of the members of this year’s jury, which is presided by Spanish writer-director Pedro Almodóvar.

For the 70th anniversary, there are people who are part of the history of the festival, or who have been discovered by the festival, and who we want to have near us,” he told the radio station.
