Jessa Duggar Compares Abortion to Holocaust, Draws Ire on Instagram

Jessa Duggar Compares Abortion to Holocaust, Draws Ire on Instagram Rule number one of being a celebrity: don't compare things to the Holocaust that aren't the Holocaust.

Jessa Duggar, the third eldest daughter on "19 Kids and Counting," showed her religious views mixed with her complete lack of decorum when she visited the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.

Duggar talked about her impression of the museum on Instagram, but did so by equating the Holocaust, which claimed the lives of approximately 11 million people during the WWII era, to abortion.

Duggar started off well enough, making good points about racism and how all human life should be treated equally (an interesting point considering the Duggar family's views on homosexuality, but I digress).

But after that, her tribute to the lives lost during the Holocaust became nothing more than a soapbox for her anti-choice views.

"I walked through the Holocaust Museum again today... very sobering," Duggar wrote. "Millions of innocents denied the most basic and fundamental of all rights—their right to life. One human destroying the life of another deemed 'less than human.' Racism, stemming from the evolutionary idea that man came from something less than human; that some people groups are 'more evolved' and others 'less evolved.' A denying that our Creator—GOD—made us human from the beginning, all of ONE BLOOD and ONE RACE, descendants of Adam. The belief that some human beings are 'not fit to live.' So they're murdered. Slaughtered. Kids with Down syndrome or other disabilities. The sickly. The elderly," the engaged TV star wrote in the caption. "The sanctity of human life varies not in sickness or health, poverty or wealth, elderly or pre-born, little or lots of melanin [making you darker or lighter skinned], or any other factor."

Duggar continued, adding on quite possibly the worst hashtag placement in Instagram history. "May we never sit idly by and allow such an atrocity to happen again. Not this generation. We must be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Because EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS. #ProLife."

In her defense, Jessa was practically quoting her own mother, Michelle Duggar, who made similar claims after her visit to the same museum. It's tough not to sound like an idiot when you've been raised for 20-some years by two of the biggest ones out there.
