'Jersey Shore' Shooting Delayed: What's Holding Up Season Four Production?

I don't mean to alarm anyone, but it looks like "Jersey Shore" production is in jeopardy.
Don't worry, there's still almost no way we'll be going without a new season of "Jersey Shore" next year, but with a number of problems arising for the show, sources are reporting that production has been delayed for a few weeks at the least.
The "Shore" cast was supposed to leave for Italy to begin filming next week, and as of yet no concrete reason for the delay has been given. But here are a few ideas:
1.) Contract Negotiations
As we reported earlier, about half of the cast have reportedly been holding out for higher pay next season. Apparently the issue has not been resolved yet, so until those contracts are signed, production can't begin. That's likely to be the main reason for the delay, but there are other possibilities too. Such as:
2.) Permit Problems
E! News sources have said that the show has run into problems in obtaining filming permits around Florence. This is a bit of a surprise as Italy is generally very film-friendly. The Italian Film Commission has denied this rumor.
3.) Italy Just Doesn't Like Them
There have been rumblings over in Italy about "Jersey Shore" ever since news broke that season four would be shooting there and reruns began to air on Italian TV. Italian commentators and the general public have blamed the show for perpetuating negative stereotypes of Italian-Americans and have made it very clear that "Jersey Shore" isn't welcome on the Italian shores.
Based on this opposition, the cast is apparently starting to feel a little uneasy about being in Italy, so it's possible that the whole Italy trip might get cut short. If that happens, season four will be only partly based in Italy, more of a vacation than a season-long residence. If that's the case, then the crew will likely spend the rest of the time back in good ol' Seaside Heights.
