'Jersey Shore' Producer Creates Weight Loss/Dating Reality Show

'Jersey Shore' Producer Creates Weight Loss/Dating Reality Show What do you get when you mix "The Biggest Loser" with "The Bachelor"? I'm not quite sure, but it might look something like "Love Handles," the newest reality show from "Jersey Shore" producer SallyAnn Salsano.

The show was sold by Salsano to the Lifetime network in a speedy deal. The whole thing went so quickly, in fact, that Salsano says she "almost didn't believe" it was really going to happen.

The show will center on overweight couples who go through a weight-loss program, then decide if they should stay together. Apparently, most of these couples will already be having relationship problems, so each ep will probably include lots of exercise and lots of couple's therapy (or arguing).

It's an interesting reality mash-up, combining the inspiring/tear-jerking nature of weight loss shows with the drama-filled, train-wreck entertainment of watching couples argue...that seems to be where the "Jersey Shore" influence comes in.

Salsano, though, claims that the new show "couldn't be any different" from "Jersey Shore." I think she meant "couldn't be any more different" there, but I guess we'll find out when we see the show.

"Love Handles" has eight hour-long episodes already produced, which will begin airing on Lifetime later this month.
