'Jersey Shore', 'Mersey Shore' - Another British Remake Coming to MTV UK

The "Jersey Shore" bug has already bitten England, as MTV UK premiered their version, "Geordie Shore," this year. The show, by the way, was met with a sizable audience by MTV UK's standards (about 330,000) and was also met with outrage from some British citizens who saw the drinking, stripping, and hooking up as appalling. Welcome to the "Shore," chaps.

But apparently "Geordie Shore" isn't enough for England, as MTV will be getting another British version of "Jersey Shore" called--get this--"Mersey Shore." Yes, I know it just sounds like someone mocking the title of "Jersey Shore" but no, I'm not kidding. That's what they're calling it.

The show will be set in Merseyside, a county in England that contains the River Mersey...hence the name, "Mersey Shore." Lime Pictures, a Liverpool production company, will be shooting the show in the Liverpool area and will be casting a group of Scousers with big personalities. So would likely be a tough show to understand for American viewers, due to the accents.

The "Jersey Shore" crew, meanwhile, has returned from Florence and is getting ready to shoot a new season back in Seaside. So that makes three countries that have espoused the GTL lifestyle.
