Future Film News: Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo Drop Delicious Hints About 'Avengers'

The red carpet for the Academy Awards is a delicate dance between celebrities and press: one wants to publicize, the other wants the scoop, but sometimes your studio contract keeps you from saying anything revealing.

Still, "The Avengers" stars Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner managed to drop a couple of hints about Marvel's upcoming productions.

Renner, who will be playing the bow-and-arrow-wielding Hawkeye in "The Avengers", was especially tight-lipped about the project: he said that the script is "tremendous," but refused to reveal any details. He was a bit looser on the particulars of a possible cameo in the soon-to-be-released "Thor," in which Hawkeye is rumored to make an appearance.

When asked if he would be in the Branagh film, Renner simply said "I might. Go see it. Check it out."

Notably, though, Renner mentioned that he has not yet seen his Hawkeye costume, so if he does appear in "Thor", it will be as Hawkeye's alter ego Clint Barton. We'll have to wait until 2012 to see that putple headpiece.

Ruffalo, meanwhile, mentioned that he is not only playing Bruce Banner but will also be doing the motion capture for The Hulk.  It seems as though both regular Banner and Hulked-out Banner will be equally represented in the film: “There’s some great Bruce Banner stuff [in 'Avengers'], kind of a slant on him that we haven’t seen before,” said Ruffalo.

“He’s introduced in a really great way.” Ruffalo talked a bit about the script as well, saying that it combines comedy and drama that falls "right into Joss Whedon's wheelhouse."

Sounds perfect to me! Now will one of you please tell us some details about the script? We're dying of curiosity over here!
