Is Jennifer Love Hewitt the Worst Actress of the Last 25 Years?

Is Jennifer Love Hewitt the Worst Actress of the Last 25 Years? If you ever get in a debate with someone over who the worst actress of the last 25 years is, there's a definitive answer for you. It's Jennifer Love Hewitt.

At least, that's what Slate.com determined in an analysis of data compiled from the movie review aggregate site Rottentomates.com. The data implies that of the actresses that did more than 20 movies since 1985, Jennifer Love Hewitt has the lowest average review score on Rottentomatoes.

The study uses the Rottentomatoes rating system, which divided critic reviews into good and bad (or "fresh" and "rotten") and then displays the percentage of "fresh" reviews. If the number is above 60%, a movie is considered "fresh" overall.

Poor Jennifer Love Hewitt has never had a movie receive an overall "fresh" designation on Rottentomatoes. In fact, her highest-rated movie is "Heartbreakers," which earned a 53% overall rating. Her lowest is "The Truth About Love," which earned a 0%. Her record wasn't helped much by the two "Garfield" movies (which earned 15% and 11%) or "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" (7%) either.

Personally, I'm shocked--shocked, I say--that "Can't Hardly Wait" wasn't certified "fresh." It's a classic! Also, in J Love's defense, her TV work (which includes "Ghost Whisperer" and "The Client List") has been better received, and she's even been nominated for a Golden Globe.

The worst actor since 1985, according to the Slate study? Chuck Norris. We tried to reach the Slate team for comments, but found that their heads had been roundhouse-kicked clean off.

(Ed. Note: The very pro-Chuck Norris crew at Yidio assumes the item about Chuck Norris to be either a typo or statistical error on the part of the study's authors and absolve themselves of any association with the clearly fallacious study results. Gulp.)
