Jennifer Love Hewitt Joins 'Criminal Minds'
by Shannon KeirnanThat Jennifer Love Hewitt seems to pop up everywhere.
The star of "Ghost Whisperer" and "The Client List" will now be joining the cast of CBS' "Criminal Minds."
In the show, which follows a highly specialized band of FBI agents as they track serial killers, Hewitt will be playinng a character by the name of Kate Callahan.
USA Today describes her character as "a seasoned undercover agent who joins the Behavioral Analysis Unit, which investigates the most twisted of crimes."
Her character will be introduced during the 10th-season premiere.
Hewitt will appear as a regular on the show, which also stars Joe Mantegna, Shemar Moore, and Thomas Gibson.
"We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast," said executive producer Erica Messer. "Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season."
Hewitt starred for five seasons on the CBS series "Ghost Whisperer," and for two on Lifetime's "The Client List."
Hewitt, who was an executive producer on "The Client List," wanted her real-life fiance at the time (Brian Hallisay) to play the father of character Riley's baby on the show. Arguments and issues with the choice eventually lead to Lifetime and Sony TV canceling the show entirely.
Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen on "Criminal Minds!"
You can check out Hewitt's new role as season 10 stars up on Wednesday, October 1st, at 9 p.m.
