Jennifer Lopez Joins Steven Tyler in Leaving 'American Idol'

Jennifer Lopez Joins Steven Tyler in Leaving 'American Idol' Just one day after Steven Tyler announced his exit from "American Idol" in a very Tyler-esque fashion, his co-judge Jennifer Lopez has followed suit.

THR reports that Lopez told Ryan Seacrest, of all people, that she won't be returning to "Idol" next season. The news came during an interview between Seacrest and Lopez on Seacrest's morning radio show.

That means that both judges who joined back in season 10 will be exiting before the start of season 12, leaving at least two vacancies at the "American Idol" judges' table.

Randy Jackson, who has been a judge since the first season, has yet to renew his contract, so there could be an all-new table of judges for next season depending on his decision.

So, who will replace Tyler and Lopez? Adam Lambert has been mentioned as a possibility, but then again so has pretty much everyone else: Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Will.I.Am and Fergie are all names that are up for consideration and Nigel Lythgoe himself mentioned (perhaps jokingly) that he would want Charlie Sheen and Jerry Lewis on the show.

Katy Perry has since declined the invitation, not much of a surprise considering how well her music career is going, but as of now it seems that pretty much anyone with some name recognition is a possibility for the job.
