Jennifer Lopez Emotionally Affected by 'American Idol' Contestants

Jennifer Lopez Emotionally Affected by 'American Idol' Contestants As “American Idol” Season 10 continues to search for the most talented singer in America, Jennifer Lopez admits being emotionally affected by contestants in the singing reality show.

During a conversation via satellite with Access Hollywood Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, the singer-actress said, “I think told you last time I was here how emotionally involved we are and how connected we get to the contestants.”

According to Lopez, some of the contestants' personal situations in life and their determination to reach for their dreams touched her.

“Just to see them do well and everything…and even just some of them with their stories because they have their own children... literally, it breaks my heart and it moves me so much,” said the “Idol” judge.

“I’m just loving the whole experience, I’m loving to be able to mentor the kids and help them through this experience,” added Jennifer Lopez.

Billy Bush also talked to Jennifer Lopez contestant Chris Medina. He admitted that the scene when Steven Tyler lovingly talked to Medina’s wheelchair bound fiancée Juliana Ramos made him cry.

Jennifer Lopez admired Tyler, and described him as a loveable and adorable and very “heartful” person.

“I don’t know how else to put it, (Steven) he’s just that guy and actually Chris had told us in the audition that Juliana was a huge Aerosmith fan, a huge Steven Tyler fan… it just moved all of us to tears,” said Lopez.

Jennifer Lopez also told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover that she is satisfied with the way American Idol edited the show and how she is being presented as a judge. She thinks the editing is accurate.

“It’s how I am, how I feel. I think the weirdest thing for me was actually being on television and not having lines or not singing a song or not doing something that was totally prepared and just being myself," said Lopez.

Furthermore she said, “I mean, I do interviews and stuff like that and I get to be myself, but this is something that is just a whole different experience for me.I am very happy with how the show is. I think it’s really funny, really fun, really emotional… and I’m enjoying every second of it.”
