Jennifer Lawrence Told to Eat For Her 'Silver Linings Playbook' Role
by Shannon KeirnanActress Jennifer Lawrence seems to take a lot of flack for her figure in the world of Hollywood. But not everyone is anti-bosom and anti-thigh—her director for “Silver Linings Playbook,” David O. Russell, says that he actually encouraged his lead to chill out and eat a sammich after her role as the ever-hungry Katniss.
Russell said, "I like her as a real person. She looked like she'd been working hard. I just encouraged her to relax and eat a good meal. She immediately got herself a cheese steak."
Lawrence has not been shy about responding to criticism about her size. She has addressed how she is considered “obese” in Hollywood, and insisted, "I’m never going to starve myself for a part. I keep waiting for that one role to come along that scares me enough into dieting, and it just can’t happen. I’m invincible."
“I’m a woman that’s living in this kind of world of everybody kind of telling everyone how they should look and what they should be eating, and how people can lose this much weight this fast and it just overwhelms our senses and I would just like if I could just make tiniest bit of difference in getting rid of that, because it just so annoying,” she said during an interview with ET.
“Silver Linings Playbook” hits theaters November 21st, and also stars Robert De Niro, Chris Tucker, Julia Stiles, and the delicious Bradley Cooper, who Lawrence notes is an excellent dancer, as Pat Solatano.
