Jennifer Lawrence Talks Dancing, Body Image
by Shannon KeirnanCutie Jennifer Lawrence sat down with ET to discuss her new sex-addict character in the upcoming “The Silver Linings Playbook.”
The movie, which deals with a former teacher, played by Bradley Cooper, who moves back in with his parents after a stay in a mental institution and meets the mysterious Tiffany, played by Lawrence.
Lawrence calls Tiffany a “hilarious enigma.”
She adds “I’ve never met anyone like her and I’ve never read a character like her. Normally when people are very kind of, forceful, opinionated, they’re hiding insecurities, but she’s the exact opposite. I’ve never really met anyone like that. She was just a complete mystery to me.”
And what of the fact that the film involves quite a lot of dancing? Is the “Hunger Games” star a natural? Apparently not.
“Bradley is a really great dancer, and I… am not,” she admits.
The interviewer also asks Lawrence what she would be doing if not acting, and Lawrence jokes, “I’ve always liked medicine and I think I can diagnose everybody, so I would like to say doctor, but I know I don’t have the focus for it.”
“It feels normal,” she says, on stepping back into the role of Katniss. “It’s like a little reunion.”
And of the pressure of Hollywood’s body image? Lawrence has a lot to say.
“I’m a woman that’s living in this kind of world of everybody kind of telling everyone how they should look and what they should be eating, and how people can lose this much weight this fast and it just overwhelms our senses and I would just like if I could just make tiniest bit of difference in getting rid of that, because it just so annoying.”
