Jayma Mays (Emma on 'Glee') Really Didn't Know About 'Afternoon Delight'

Jayma Mays (Emma on 'Glee') Really Didn't Know About 'Afternoon Delight' Jayma Mays, who plays school counselor (and object of Will's affection) Emma on "Glee," is more like her character than you'd think.

No, she doesn't actually suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder or eat her lunch with plastic gloves on, but in a recent interview, she revealed a bit about her naivety.

During last week's "Sexy" episode, Emma performed "Afternoon Delight" with the Celibacy Club and was shocked to find out that the lyrics really meant.

Well, Jayma Mays was shocked, too: "I didn't know it was so dirty," said Mays, "I don't know if I thought it was about pie, but I can remember singing that song with my parents when I was growing up. That's so creepy now."

Mays reports that her parents were in the dark too. Apparently they sent her an email the next day saying that they had had no idea what the song was about, either. That explains a lot. I think the whole Mays family needs Burt Hummel to sit them down at the kitchen table and show them some pamphlets.
