Which Mutants Are Not Returning For 'X-Men: Days of Future Past?'
by Shannon KeirnanJanuary Jones will probably not be appearing in the upcoming X-Men flick “Days of Future Past.”
But she doesn’t really know for sure?
Collider made things a little rocky by asking Jones at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival if she was excited to be coming back as Emma Frost, to which Jones responded,
“I don’t know that I’m in it, I don’t think Emma’s in this one. Well they haven’t told me if I am. I wouldn’t put it past them though, I got the script for the first one on the airplane on the way there. It’s called ‘Days of Future Past’ I think, and I think it’s more about James [McAvoy] and Michael [Fassbender] and then Patrick [Stewart] and Ian [McKellan], and I think it’s gonna go back and forth with those so I don’t think Emma’s in those bits. I don’t know, I really don’t know.”
Oops.
Rose Byrne, who played Moira McTaggert in “X-Men: First Class” faced a similar issue when asked on the red carpet about a return to “X-Men.”
“I haven’t heard yet what’s happening. I’m waiting to hear,” she answered diplomatically.
Famke Janssen, who played Jean Grey in the series, also says she hasn’t been approached to return.
“If you run into Bryan Singer, just tell him I’ve been sitting by the phone. I’ve been hearing rumors of all these people getting cast; what about me? I’m waiting!”
The film is due out July 18th, 2014, and will feature Ian McKellen returning as Magneto, and Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier. Their younger counterparts, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, are also slated to appear, as well as Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
