Janet Hubert Finally Wants to Mend Fences With Will Smith, Attend 'Fresh Prince' Reunion
by Shannon KeirnanFormer “Fresh Prince” mom Janet Hubert has been edging her way into the media lately, and saying that finally, after twenty years, she wants to end the feud between herself and Will Smith.
“I would say to him [Smith], we need to heal this. You’ve done some things, you’ve said some things, that were totally untrue and you know that they were untrue. I’ve said some things that I probably should have never said ... I’m tired. Aren’t you tired Will?”
Hubert says she would “absolutely” attend a reunion for the show if invited.
It’s a different tune than she was singing in 2011, when she said, “There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith. He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”
Apparently time heals all wounds. Hubert was replaced mid-series by Daphne Reid due to conflicts with Smith and has since been vocal about her dislike of Smith.
She also recently penned a sharply worded open letter to talk show host Wendy Williams, after Williams spoke with former co-star Tatyana Ali about the feud.
“The story from my point of view it was really like a divorce when it actually happened,” Ali responded. “There was definitely negativity, like you could feel it, which is amazing to me because we were on a hit show and we really loved each other and laughed every day. I don’t see why there would be tension or what the issue would be.”
Ali has said “Does Will have an ego? He was the same person he was the day I met him to now on so I don’t know where that came from, that was not my experience at all.”
“You are such a demon Wendy,” Hubert lashed out. “You are wicked, awful, conniving, sinister, spiteful, jealous of every other woman. Simply put, Wendy you are a virus.”
